James Milner reacts on Twitter after Liverpool suffer Chelsea FA Cup defeat

Liverpool star James Milner has taken to Twitter to hit back at his side’s critics after their defeat to Chelsea.

Frank Lampard’s side advanced into the FA Cup quarter-finals as the Reds suffered their second successive defeat at Stamford Bridge.

Already leading through Willian’s first half effort, Ross Barkley sealed his side’s passage into the last eight when he scored a fine solo just after the hour mark.

The result comes just days after Watford brought an end to the Reds’ 44-game unbeaten run, ruining any chances Liverpool had of emulating Arsenal's Invincible 2003/04 season.

It is well known that Liverpool are only a maximum of 12 points away from ending their 30-year wait for an elusive Premier League title, and even though they were beaten by Watford on Saturday evening, they're still on the brink of glory.

And taking to the social media site on Wednesday morning, Milner wrote: "You always have tough times in a season, the most important thing is how you react and bounce back from them.

"Away support was fantastic as always #YNWA #alwaystogether”.

Next up for Liverpool is a home game against Bournemouth on Saturday before they face a huge Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid a few days later.

Klopp’s side currently trail in the tie having lost the first-leg 1-0 win at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
