James Milner has refused to rule out a return to boyhood club Leeds United if they get promoted to the Premier League from the Championship.
Midfielder Milner came through the Elland Road academy before making 54 appearances over two season in the first team.
But after the Whites were relegated from the top tier in 2004, Milner made an unhappy moved to Newcastle for £3.4million - insisting he only left Leeds for the club's best interest.
Milner has gone on to play for Aston Villa and has won two Premier League titles with Manchester City, claimed 61 England caps, before helping Liverpool to their first league title for 30 years last month.
With Leeds top of the Championship and seemingly heading back to the Premier League for the first time since Milner's departure, the 34-year-old has been asked whether a move back to the city he was born in could be on the cards.
"You never know in football, what's around the corner, but I just want to contribute and win as many trophies as I can for Liverpool and add to the great history here," Milner told Sky Sports.
"I'm biased, but I think the Premier League will be a better place for Leeds in it, and it will be weird to play against them next season.
"It seems a long time ago since I pulled on that shirt, you look back at photos and see how big the shirts were back then.
"Plenty has changed since then, unfortunately I was part of the team that got relegated and they haven't come back and recovered just yet.
"It would be great to see them back next season and their fans are incredible as well."
