James Milner becomes latest Liverpool injury problem along with eight others

James Milner has become the latest addition to Liverpool's lengthy injury list after he was forced off against Leicester.

The veteran midfielder was named in the starting XI at the King Power Stadium but lasted less than 20 minutes before he was withdrawn for Thiago Alcantara.

It's unclear what vice-captain Milner's issue is but he was struggling to move properly before he was taken off against Brendan Rodgers' side.

Milner will now be assessed by the club's medical staff ahead of Tuesday night's Champions League clash with RB Leipzig in Budapest.

The former Leeds youngster becomes the third player this week to suffer an injury at Anfield after Divock Origi and new signing Ben Davies were left out of the squad that made the trip to Leicester.

Origi has suffered a hamstring problem while Davies was ruled out with what manager Jurgen Klopp described as "a little knock" before the game at the King Power.

Milner, Davies and Origi now join Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Fabinho, Diogo Jota and Naby Keita on the sidelines for an injury-hit Liverpool.
