James Milner aims Wilfried Zaha dig at Trent Alexander-Arnold after Liverpool absence

James Milner has aimed a cheeky dig at Trent Alexander-Arnold after the 35-year-old deputised at right-back against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds saw off their opponents 3-0 at Anfield, but the Wilfred Zaha vs Milner battle was a talking point among supporters pre-match.

Milner has filled in for Alexander-Arnold on a number of occasions and has done so against Palace once before, when the Reds edged past them 4-3 back in January 2019.

Zaha is regarded by many as one of the most dangerous attackers in the league and Milner was asked post-match how he found out he'd be up against the Ivory Coast international.

Alisson makes Liverpool exit admission after signing new long-term contract

Alisson Becker has offered a hint about his long-term Liverpool future after signing a new contract this summer.

The Brazilian joined the Reds from AS Roma in the summer of 2018, and has played a key role in helping Jurgen Klopp 's side win the Champions League and Premier League in recent seasons.

Putting pen to paper on a new improved deal which ties his future to Liverpool until 2027, the 28-year-old has admitted he is happy to stay at Anfield for the rest of his career.

However, the goalkeeper also confirmed he would like to re-join Brazilian side Internacional if the opportunity arose in the future, having started his career with the club.
