James McPake insisted his Dundee side are good enough to get back to the Premiership.
His Dark Blues lost 1-0 to Raith Rovers at home last night but went through 3-1 on aggregate.
Dundee will now face the 11th placed team in the Premiership play-off, Kilmarnock or Ross County.
McPake, who will go to Motherwell v Ross County, said: "I’m going to Motherwell. I might walk to it, it’s that close. Dave is going to Hamilton. We’ll give it everything for this club because we believe we’re good enough to get there."
McPake believes his team deserves credit over the two legs.
He added: "I would have been fuming if we hadn’t got through! I’m delighted to get through it. It was a bit of a strange game and a tough game.
"They went completely different which didn’t throw us because when you have Ashcroft he’s a head on a stick. That was his type of game and he was outstanding as was Byrne.
"People who know football notice him but he was the best player on the pitch by a mile and that’s why he’s important for us. They were good. I have huge respect for John because I love the way his team plays and I’d love my team to play like it.
"They came and gave us a bit of a fright but if someone said you’ll lose one and win one and get through to the final I’d have taken it.
"It did mean a lot because we were so desperate to get back into the Premiership. It wasn’t our best performance but it didn’t need to be. We just needed to find a way to get through the tie.
"The tie effectively was won on Wednesday. We just had to do our job properly. We wanted to go ten unbeaten but it’s irrelevant because we’re in the final and we’ll be watching who we could potentially play on Thursday.
"We knew they were going to come and throw everything at it. Over the two legs we were the better team and I thought we maybe had the better of the chances. This part of the job is done."
McPake also revealed he took Charlie Adam off as he tired and feared Raith were trying to get him sent off.
McPake insisted: "It was annoying me if I’m honest. Someone was shouting because it’s Charlie Adam he’s not getting booked again.
"Charlie tired a bit in the end and he’s such an important player. He was on a booking with 20 to go."
