James McFadden likens Celtic star to Virgil Van Dijk as he hands Liverpool comparison with 'so easy' verdict

James McFadden believes Celtic have another Virgil Van Dijk on their hands with defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The Englishman has been a rock at the back for Ange Postecoglou's side since sealing a permanent move in the summer from English Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur and has played a whopping 69 games for the Hoops including his loan stint last year. Carter-Vickers also represented homeland USA at the World Cup and is forging a partnership with Carl Starfelt that has seen nine clean sheets this season.

Postecoglou has already recruited numbers in the defensive department with potentially outgoing Stephen Welsh, loan star Moritz Jenz and new arrival Yuki Kobayashi all vying for places at Parkhead. But pundit McFadden believes the Australian boss has a gem on his hands in Carter-Vickers and that he plays like former Celtic hero Van Dijk in many ways.
