James McClean trolls Rangers over Tyrese Campbell deal as he aims 'sevco' jibe

Well known Celtic fan James McClean has trolled Rangers over their failed bid to sign Stoke City forward Tyrese Campbell.

The striker turned down a move to Ibrox - as well as rivals Celtic- in January to stay at Stoke and sign a new long-term deal at the club.

And McClean decided to have a bit of fun on his social media as he aimed a 'sevco' jibe at Rangers in an Instagram post.

The Republic of Ireland winger posted a picture with Campbell celebrating a goal and wrote: "When you convince @tyekaicampbell to see sense and turn down Sevco and he listens"

And it didn't end there as Campbell responded himself as he said: "Few words from Uncle Macca was all it took".

Rangers had attempted to sign Campbell on a pre-contract with the young striker deciding to stick around with Michael O'Neill's Stoke.

He personally phoned both Rangers and Celtic to let them know he wouldn't be signing for them.

It's understood he was seriously considering a switch to Ibrox but O'Neill's promise of regular first team football swayed him into staying at the Bet365.
