James McClean, Michael Conlan and Carl Frampton rally behind families of young Belfast boxers

Sports stars including James McClean, Michael Conlan and Carl Frampton have rallied behind the families of two young boxers who tragically lost their lives.

Amateur boxers Eoin Hamill (13) and Cillian Draine (11) sadly passed away last week.

There has been an outpouring of grief following the tragic deaths.

A number of professional boxers from Belfast and beyond have been fundraising in order to support the families of two young fighters.

Unbeaten featherweight star Conlan auctioned off some of his fight shorts which raised £2,600.

The Falls Road boxer also sold a boxing glove signed by himself, Carl Frampton, Paddy Barnes and Katie Taylor which raised £2,750.

And a pair of signed Conlan fight gloves fetched £3,000 thanks to a bid from Republic of Ireland and Stoke City footballer James McClean.

Former two-weight world champion Frampton has also pledged his support by donating the gloves and shorts he wore in his last fight against Tyler McCreary in Las Vegas back in November.

The gloves are currently sitting at £1,100 with the shorts at £2,000.

Meanwhile, Belfast boxers Sean McComb and Tyrone McKenna have been holding raffles for some of their fight gear, and Dubliner Luke Keeler has donated his fight shorts.

Unbeaten super-middleweight Padraig McCrory also donated the glove he wore when he delivered his ‘Knockout of the Year’ blow over Manny Bique, while Ruairi Dalton has donated the fight shorts from his pro debut against Jose Hernandez last year.

Marco McCullough is also auctioning off the fight shorts he wore when he won the IBO European title.

Anyone looking more information on the various items being auctioned off for the families should check out the respective boxer's social media channels.
