James Martin was left flustered on This Morning after accidentally splitting his trousers, joking that he needs to "stop eating".
Earlier, the 49-year-old chef presented a segment on his favourite ingredient - butter.
After shocking Holly Willoughby by dumping a whole block of butter into a pan to make some chicken milanese, James revealed that he would also be cooking up some desserts.
Holly asked him: "What are you whipping your butter up into this time?"
"I'm going to make some miso fudge," he revealed as he popped a piece in his mouth. "I'm actually eating too much of it, this is delicious."
"You did give us a little sneak peak and it is pretty phenom," Holly said excitedly.
James teased: "With a little bit of sea salt over the top and then a chocolate fudge cake with butter icing and served with hazelnuts, loaded with a bit of fudge on top."
Holly gushed: "Wow, yum."
Phillip Schofield then joked: "What people don't realise is that he's actually got wheels on the bottom of his feet and people just wheel him about."
"I've just split my trousers when I was bending down," James told her.
As James turned around and showed off his trousers, Phil exclaimed: "Oh you have!"
"I have genuinely split my trousers," James said. "I need to stop eating, actually!"
Holly said: "All in the name of research! All in the name of research!"
James is renowned among fans for his extreme love of butter and once revealed to the Mirror that he someone once pelted him with it.
After insisting that his fans aren't all women, he said that no one had thrown their underwear at him before.
He quipped: "Someone chucked butter once, but that was about it.”
