James Maddison has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top of English football.
The 22-year-old has worked his way through the lower leagues in England, playing for Coventry in League One in the 2015/16 season and Norwich City in the Championship in 2016/17 and 17/18, along with a loan spell in the Scottish Premiership with Aberdeen.
He signed for Leicester in 2018 and enjoyed a fine first season in the Premier League, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists too.
Maddison is a sought-after player, with links to Manchester United and Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
And the midfielder has made no secret of the fact that he would like to play at an even higher level.
Maddison has made nine appearances for England U21s and was called up into Gareth Southgate's senior squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers with Bulgaria and Kosovo, being an unused substitute for the 4-0 win over Bulgaria on Saturday.
And he has been speaking about his future, amid those transfer links with big six clubs Spurs and United.
He said: "I want to play at the highest level my ability will allow me to.
"I like to think I’ve my head screwed on with the transfers I’ve made. I’ve played League One, in Scotland, the Championship and the Premier League. I worked my way up."
Leicester are one of the clubs tipped to challenge the big six this season, alongside the likes of Everton, Wolves and West Ham.
And the next transfer, when he does decide to move on from the King Power Stadium, would seem to be a top six side, playing in European competition.
