James Maddison comments on Marcus Rashford's Instagram after Man Utd free kick vs Chelsea

Marcus Rashford has joked he learned the technique for his free kick against Chelsea from Manchester United transfer target James Maddison.

Rashford's swerving 35-yard strike helped United beat Chelsea and progress into the Carabao Cup quarter finals, where they could meet Maddison's Leicester City.

United are interested in signing Maddison, who is an international teammate of Rashford's after being called up to the last two England squads, but is waiting for his first senior cap.

Maddison was clearly impressed with the strike as he took to Instagram to comment on a post from Rashford which read: "Class win. Class support. Class night."

The Leicester playmaker, who has four goals and two assists in ten games this season, replied: "Nah that free kick" in admiration for the goal.

Rashford replied: "been watching you mate."

Typically, many responses to the exchange were from United fans trying to persuade Maddison to join the club in a coming transfer window.

Also replying to Rashford's post were Chris Smalling, who replied with flame emojis, and Scott McTominay who called the goal 'incredible.'
