Now that Monday’s episode of Jeopardy! has begun airing around the United States, the word is out: James Holzhauer loses to Emma Boettcher, ending his remarkable 32-game winning streak that saw him nearly break Ken Jennings’ cash winnings total in under half the amount of time.
Holzhauer has already spoken about the loss in some interviews he did that were only released when the taping aired, but he took to Twitter and made a perfect joke with the NBA Finals going on:
Ah, a reference the Drake Curse, and it’s even more timely just days after boxer Anthony Joshua vowed to break the curse and failed. As with everything Holzhauer has done on the game show, it’s brilliant.
