James Harden wants to ‘drop somebody every game’ with move

Houston Rockets guard James Harden wants to “drop somebody every game” with one of his moves, he explained in a new interview.

In his chat with Houston music station 97.9 The Box, Harden was asked about his legendary crossover of then-Clippers swingman Wesley Johnson, which sent Johnson to the floor in a February 2018 game at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

“I be trying to drop somebody every game,” said Harden, who says he hasn’t spoken with Johnson since. “That’s called killer mentality.”

Harden eventually won the NBA’s 2018 Most Valuable Player (MVP) award before finishing second in 2019 voting. He averaged a career-best 36.1 points per game last season, along with 7.5 assists, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in 36.8 minutes per game.

Harden addressed several other Rockets and NBA topics during the interview while also promoting his upcoming JH-Town Weekend in Houston. The annual weekend — which begins Friday — consists of a celebrity softball game, charity concerts, and much more.

Harden turns 30 years old later this month. The left-hander is about to begin his eighth season in Houston and 11th in the NBA overall.
