James Harden: ‘No excuses’

James Harden’s left eye is still red and the reigning MVP says he is in pain and has blurry vision when the lights are bright — but that isn’t going to stop the Houston Rockets superstar.

Harden made it clear that he’s going to be good to go for Saturday night’s Game 3 again the Golden State Warriors.

The Rockets are in an 0-2 in the Western Conference Semifinals and being home for the next two games is a prime opportunity to start the comeback process.

Nothing is better to hear than that the Rockets’ leader is going full steam ahead, no excuses.

“It’s different,” Harden said Thursday at practice, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle. “Like an ankle injury, I rolled my ankle 100 times. You kind of know how to deal with that. You have blurry vision, you can’t see, it’s really difficult. But still no excuses.”

The eyes aren’t looking too great, though. Both eyes were hurt when Draymond Green inadvertently smacked him across the face in the first quarter of Game 2 on Tuesday.

But, a testament to just how dedicated he is to his team and winning, Harden did return and ended up scoring a team-high 29 points in the loss.
