James Harden is the first player in NBA history to average 35+ points and 7+ assists per game in a season

James Harden is the first player in NBA history to average 35+ points and 7+ assists per game in a season.

The reigning MVP locked up the feat Friday night against the New York Knicks, when the Houston Rockets superstar dropped 26 points and 8 assists.

Harden is currently averaging 36.2 points, 7.6 assists and 6.5 rebounds during 76 games played this season. The Rockets have two games remaining on their schedule: at home against the Phoenix Suns and away against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Even if Harden doesn’t score or assist in those last two games, he would still average 35.2 points per game and 7.4 assists per game to finish the season.
