The Brooklyn Nets were already the most interesting team in the league coming into the season and they have a real shot at getting even more interesting as they look to knock the Los Angeles Lakers off of their championship pedestal.
Following reports of Russell Westbrook wanting out of Houston, the news about Harden quickly followed, with the two most likely destinations emerging in the Eastern Conference: the Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers, who happen to be run by former Rockets boss Daryl Morey, who also wrote a personal letter in the Houston Chronicle to James Harden on his way out.
Rockets star James Harden wants to be on a contender elsewhere, and Brooklyn and Philadelphia are believed to be his top desired trade destinations, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.
Houston is fully comfortable keeping Harden and Russell Westbrook into the season.

Houston was talking a big game about keeping Harden as recently as yesterday but they may have already shown their hand with yesterday’s deal of Robert Covington to Portland for Trevor Ariza and two first round picks, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. While Ariza is still a good player, it doesn’t seem like getting him is going to change Harden’s mind.
