James Harden could miss Sunday’s game against the Timberwolves

James Harden could miss Sunday’s game when the Houston Rockets host the Minnesota Timberwolves.

If the reigning MVP misses the game, it would be due to a cervical strain.

Harden had first injured his shoulder Feb. 9 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, played through three more games and then sat out against the Golden State Warriors (2/23) before returning for a game two days later.

The Rockets host the Timberwolves, who have beat Houston in both meetings thus far.

However,  the Rockets have won 10 of their last 11 games and are 25-10 at Toyota Center. They also have an 11-game winning streak against the Timberwolves in Houston.

Though the Rockets clearly want to maintain their standings in the Western Conference, they should also consider their star’s health heading into the playoffs.
