It’s an exciting time in Houston, the Rockets have made the Russell Westbrook acquisition official and introduced him to the city of Houston on Friday.
Westbrook was acquired from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Chris Paul and picks earlier in the offseason and he couldn’t be happier to be in Houston. He says he’s committed to the Rockets and he’s ready to rock in Space City.
Meanwhile, James Harden took to Instagram to welcome Westbrook to Houston. The two were teammates in Oklahoma City before Harden was traded to the Rockets before the 2012-13 season. It’s very clear by his Instagram post that Harden is happy to have his friend back with him.
With Harden’s ruthless scoring ability combined with the ultra aggressiveness of Westbrook, the Rockets look to finally make that final push into the NBA Finals. They have come up short in recent seasons, but now with their new superstar duo, they feel they have the right pieces in place to finally capture that elusive title.
