James Forrest ribbed as Celtic boss Neil Lennon makes humorous prediction ahead of book launch

Quiet man James Forrest is known for doing his talking on the pitch but the Celtic winger is about to get a taste of the literary world as he gets set to launch his biography.

Critics are known for their cut-throat approach when it comes to reviews and the Hoops hero was probably caught on the hop after his Parkhead boss Neil Lennon delivered a playful response ahead of the launch in December.

The Premiership champions are promoting the book and shared a killer one-liner from the Irishman - who provided the forward.

It read: 'I'm sure it will be a riveting read."

"I'm joking  but has been getting a bit of stick about that from the lads.

"He's just so quiet, he's just been superb, he's a big game player.

"His persona hasn't changed one bit."

Celtic then added on social media: "Nothing like the gaffer having your back!"

Autobiographies from leading players can be a hit or a miss. Zlatan Ibrahimovic's explosive memoirs were a smash-hit but some more by the numbers releases have failed to hit the mark.

But Forrest's rise from academy star to Parkhead hero is sure to prove popular among the Hoops faithful who adore him for his longevity in green and white.

And the Scotland international is a player who gets better with age after transforming his game under Brendan Rodgers and standing tall under Lennon.
