James Doyle keeps the ride on Crystal Ocean in Juddmonte International

JAMES DOYLE will be back on board hot favourite Crystal Ocean in the Juddmonte International at York on Wednesday.

Doyle partnered the Sir Michael Stoute five-year-old for the first time in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot last month, when the pair finished a heroic neck second to Enable.

And Stoute has opted to keep the partnership intact for Crystal Ocean’s bid for atonement in the 10-furlong Group 1.

“We’ve decided to stick with James Doyle,” said the master of Freemason Lodge on Thursday.
“He rode the horse at Ascot. Ryan [Moore] has ridden him more than anyone, but he’s not available.”

Crystal Ocean, winner of the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot in June, is a best-priced 11-8 market leader to notch a second career Group 1.

“It was a good race - nearly a great race!” added Stoute. “We’ve declared him for next week, so we are happy with him.

“He gives everything - he doesn’t know how to give in.”
