James Corden uses Spanx control underwear beneath his suits when he hosts The Late Late Show.
The comedian discussed wardrobe issues on his show with drag queen RuPaul and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan.
The actress joked that some of her ribs are “fused together” due to wearing corsets for her character on the Amazon show, while RuPaul talked about the constraints of drag.
Corden then revealed: “I think I’m making a sacrifice wearing these Spanx. I’m not even joking.
“My new year’s resolution is to try and get to a point where I do one show this year not wearing Spanx," he continued.
“It’ll be like I’m suddenly free, Ru! I won’t know what to do! I’ll be breathing.”
When asked by his guests how fans would know when he’d ditched the underwear, Corden said: “I will shout it from the rooftops! It’ll be my first ever Instagram Story.”
While Corden is now best-known for his US talk show, the star returned to his roots in the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special last month.
Corden teamed up with co-writer Ruth Jones to pen the one-off episode and the duo also reprised their roles as Smithy and Nessa respectively, returning alongside all the main cast members.
