James Corden lampoons Trump's UK state visit: 'He thought Brexit was the most important meal of the day'

James Corden has lampooned Donald Trump's UK state visit.

Appearing on Stephen Colbert's late night show, the former Gavin and Stacy actor attacked the President of the United States.

Asked what the people of the UK think of Trump, Corden said: "I'm sure there is a very vocal group of far-right who think, 'Yeah, this is absolutely right'.

"Then there's probably all the people I know and like and respect, who are like, 'What? What are you doing here?'"

Corden questioned what exactly the Queen and Trump could be talking about, saying: "Is someone like, 'This is Queen Elizabeth the Second, this is Melania the Third'."

"I saw a thing saying he had been talking about Brexit," Corden continued. "Up until yesterday, he thought Brexit was the most important meal of the day. It's crazy. It's madness, all of it."

Corden, who hosts The Late Late Show, went on to praise Prince Charles for speaking to Trump about climate change, calling it a "wonderful thing".

He also spoke about hosting the Tony Awards, saying: "We have no intention of doing anything that is particularly political but I fully support anybody that wants to."

The British actor and TV presenter last hosted the ceremony, which honours Broadway productions, in 2016. This year's event takes place 9 June.
