James Corden confirms more Gavin and Stacey details with Christmas Day start time

Impatient Gavin and Stacey fans now know exactly how their Christmas schedule is looking after James Corden confirmed the show's start time.

The festive special will start at 8.30pm on BBC1 - and already we can't wait.

The trailer for the December 25 one-off has certainly whetted the appetite and now the countdown is well and truly on.

James joins Ruth Jones, Joanna Page, Mathew Horne, Rob Brydon, Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman in returning nearly ten years on since the final episode.

Gavin & Stacey aired over three series, plus a Christmas special, from 2007 to 2010 on the BBC.

The last ever show was watched by more than 10million viewers back in 2010.

Even more are expected to tune in to see how the gang are getting on a decade later.

When the comeback was announced, a press release read: "Over the last ten years we've talked a lot about Gavin and Stacey - where they might be today and what their lives might look like.

They all won the nation's hearts a decade ago (Baby Cow)

"And so in secret we took the plunge and wrote this one-hour special.

"We've loved revisiting Barry and Essex again and bringing the characters back together has been a joy.

"We're so excited to get the chance to work with our fabulous cast and crew once more and to give fans of the show a festive treat this Christmas.

"Thank you BBC for helping to make this happen."

The hilarious trailer show's the nation's favourite characters come together for a Christmas party at Pam and Mick's.

Gavin opens the door to Smithy, wearing a Christmas hat, and they all burst into a rendition of Step Into Christmas.

The much-loved Nessa returns with her signature catchphrase, "alright, what's occurring?" played by Ruth Jones, who co writes the show with Corden.
