James Comey sang Beyonce song during FBI briefing

James Comey has revealed he once sang "Sandcastles" by Beyonce during an official FBI briefing ahead of the release of his new memoir, A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership.

The book details Comey's role as FBI director under both the Obama and Trump administrations, from 2013 - 2017, when he was fired by Trump.

In one account, he recalled the time he received a counterintelligence case under the code name "Sandcastles" and immediately thought of the Beyonce song.

"They always have weird code names," he told PBS NewsHour. "It was 'Sandcastles' and so I said "Beyonce!" And I was the only one in the room who had any idea what I was talking about. People were like 'What?' I said, 'We built sandcastles' - honest to god, I sung like that."

No one ever needs an excuse to listen to Bey, but here's a reminder of "Sandcastles" below:

"Sandcastles" is a track from Beyonce's sixth, most reccent album Lemonade. During the interview, Comey also said he enjoys listening to Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift

However, he avoids TV espionage dramas such as Homeland and The Americans because: "Look, why do I need that stress?"
