Relic of dramageddon James Charles has seemingly made an attempt to make amends for his viral Bunnings snag saga by fawning over a *checks notes* sauce packet.
ICYMI, the makeup influencer surprised his scores of Aussie followers, revealing he’d been spending some time Down Under. Alongside beach selfies and ‘fit checks, James has also shared some videos trying Aussie delicacies, like the humble Bunnings sausage sizzle.
In his latest Aussie-related video, James spent one minute fawning over our squeezable sauce packets.
“Americans, look at this shit. Okay, Australia is lightyears ahead of us in technology and innovation,” James said while hovering over a mostly-devoured meat pie.
James went on to bag on the “irritating” US version of sauce-packed, which are usually small cups where you have to peel the label open to access the condiment.
“Ketchup packets, bane of my fucking existence. Okay, you either get the ones that you have to fcking peel open, and when you peel it open, there are all the fucking juices sitting on top. Disgusting!” James exclaimed.
“Look at this. Okay, look at what Australia has. This is theirs. So weird, right? Like two little things, and then there’s a weird like ledge on top,” he continued, showing off the little squeezy pack.
“Watch this. Okay, are you watching? Are you watching this? I’m going to make sure you can really get a close-up on all this. Okay, here we go. Ready for this?”
James went on to squeeze the sauce out onto the side of the pie before yelling, “America could never”.
“And they make a barbecue version as well. Like, somebody get on that shit! This is innovation,” he said.
Although he seemed to be more positive in this review, Aussies are annoyed at the fact that he squeezed the sauce on the size rather than on the pie.
James’ admiration of the squeezy sauce packs comes shortly after he pissed off the masses with his review of a Bunnings snag, describing it as a “hot dog”.
“This is the sausage sizzle? This is just a fucking hot dog,” he said in the viral video.
“It’s literally just a hot dog. Honestly, it’s pretty good. I wish the bread was thicker, like I need more bread to sausage sizzle ratio… It’s really good.”
The lukewarm review sparked anger online, with folks urging James to “show some respect” on the beloved meal.
“It’s just a hot dog? DUDE SHOW SOME RESPECT TO OUR NATIONAL DISH,” one person commented.
“HOW DARE YOU CALL IT A HOT DOG AND TOMATO SAUCE AND KETCHUP SO DIFFERENT STOP DISRESPECTING OUR CULTURE,” another penned.
Honestly, I’m surprised no one commented “bye, sister”. Missed opportunity.
