The release of the next James Bond has been delayed once again due to the coronavirus pandemic.
No Time to Die was originally due to be released in Scottish cinemas April 2020.
However, the health crisis and ever-changing Covid restrictions resulted in the film being postponed on three occasions across the globe.
Bosses behind the film are now hoping to release the next James Bond instalment on October 8, 2021.
The film was previously pencilled in to be shown globally on April 2021, but fears over the second wave of the virus was the reason for the this delay.
A notice on the official James Bond website simply read: “No Time to Die will be released in cinemas globally on October 8, 2021.”
No Time to Die is the 25th instalment of the James Bond film series and marks Daniel Craig’s final appearance as 007.
The delay was be a big blow to cinemas, who have closed for a number of weeks now due to coronavirus lockdown restrictions.
Cineworld took the decision to close all of its Scots cinemas after news that the Bond film would be delayed in October last year.
The release of a number of blockbuster films has been delayed since the beginning of the pandemic in the spring last year - including the likes of Dune and the fourth Matrix film.
