Danny Boyle has revealed who he would have picked to overtake Daniel Craig as James Bond.
The Mancunian director, who was set to direct Bond 25, said that Robert Pattinson would be his personal choice.
In an interview with The Independent that will be published on Monday 24 June, the director discussed how he was removed from his position helming Bond 25 amid reports of a disagreement with producers.
However, he was happy to speak about his thoughts on the franchise to date and who he thinks could take on the coveted role as the iconic spy.
”I watched High Life, the Claire Denis film, a couple of weeks ago and thought ‘f***ing hell, Robert Pattinson would make a great Bond,’" he said.
"He really would, He's matured. He's such a man now. Then when I came out of the cinema, it had literally just been announced that he was the new Batman."
Last month it was confirmed that Pattinson would become the Caped Crusader after director Ben Affleck stepped away from the franchise, which has been taken over by director Matt Reeves.
Boyle is currently promoting his new film Yesterday, which stars former EastEnders actor Himesh Patel as a struggling musician who suddenly finds the world has no idea who The Beatles are, and becomes famous by taking credit for writing and singing their songs.
Yesterday is released in cinemas on 28 June.
