James Arthur cancels Leeds show with just a few hours notice amid coronavirus outbreak

James Arthur has left fans devastated after he cancelled his show in Leeds tonight due to a mystery illness.

The X Factor singer, 32, rescheduled the show with just a few hours notice, telling his Twitter followers that he was losing his voice.

It is the latest concert to be cancelled or rescheduled as singers are advised not to perform or travel to areas affected by coronavirus.

James tweeted: "I was losing my voice last night in Glasgow and want to be able to deliver my best performance at all shows, and so regretfully I need the reschedule tonight's show in Leeds to Monday 16th March.

"I'm so sorry and I hope you can all still come along!

"Tickets from tonight's show will be valid."

The news has left fans furious as the concert was cancelled the day it was meant to go ahead.

One person tweeted: "Great.... My wife has only waited months to see you. Hopefully she can get the time off work again."

Another posted: "Will there be refunds for the tickets? My mam has just got to Leeds and paid for a non refundable hotel. Second time now one of your shows she's going/gone to has been rescheduled. It's an absolute joke."

But others wished him well, with one tweeting: "Have rest honey your health is the most important we love you."

Another said: "Your show was fantastic last night, don't be so hard on yourself, rest up & take care."

The total number of cases of coronavirus in the UK hit 456 on Monday.

Six people in the UK have now died from the virus with the number expected to rise.
