James Argent scouring dating apps for 'normal girl' after embarking on lifestyle change

James 'Arg' Argent is hoping to find love with a nice 'normal' girl after a string of failed romances with fellow celebrities.

The former TOWIE star, 34, has overhauled his lifestyle as of late and lost a whopping 13 stone after having a gastric sleeve operation and taking up exercise and healthy eating.

After his split from co-star Gemma Collins and rumours he was rekindling his romance with ex and fellow TOWIE star Lydia Bright, it's now said Arg is hoping to find a non-famous girlfriend to spend time with.

A source told Closer magazine: "James has had a rollercoaster year and he's focussed on improving his mental health. He's spent a lot of time on his own to figure himself out and what he wants, and he's finally up for dating again.

"He would love to find a girl who isn't famous, who can share in his new-found happiness. He was hoping he and Lydia could work out, but too much has happened between them.

"Now he's keen to start afresh."

Arg has previously tried to find love with someone outside of the industry, taking part in E4's Celebs Go Dating back in 2017.

The insider added that James is "good mates" with ex Gemma too and that she's hoping he can find someone to make him smile.

It comes after Arg said he had actually lost a bit too much weight.

Transform Group, who performed the surgery on Arg after doctors warned he could be in danger of dying when he tipped the scales at 27st, said they were concerned he had lost too much weight when he fell to 14st.

Arg told the Mirror: "But they are pleased for me and are in regular contact, taking blood tests to make sure I’m getting enough nutrients.

"I’ve lost a little bit more than what I wanted to, so I want to get more toned, bulk up a little bit and maybe even put on half a stone."

The Mirror has contacted Arg's representatives for comment.
