James Argent for Dancing on Ice? Gemma Collins' boyfriend 'in talks' to be next TOWIE star on show

James Argent is reportedly in talks to star on Dancing on Ice, days after his girlfriend Gemma Collins was axed from the show.

Collins and skating partner Matt Evers were booted off the ice on Sunday night, after a final skate off against fellow competitor Ryan Sidebottom.

Argent reportedly spoke to show bosses about signing up, with a source telling The Sun: “The Dancing on Ice bosses are keen on him too after Gemma's success on the show - she made it the most talked about show this year.

"James has been bowled over by how much weight Gemma has lost since being on the show - he is raring to go and told them he wants to be partnered up with Brandee Malto."

The source added that Argent was bowled over by how the show benefited Collins’ health and aided her two-stone weight loss.

A representative for Dancing on Ice told the Standard: "Talks haven't begun for the next series of Dancing on Ice."

The comments come after Collins was quizzed on the possibility of Argent joining the show during her appearance on Monday's This Morning.

She said: “Absolutely. I want him to do it. He really wants to get his fitness back. Obviously, he's been back in recovery for six months. He's doing so well and this will be the next thing to get his health and fitness back."

Speaking directly to the show bosses, Collins said: "Please book him for the show because I want him to know everything I went through."

Collins also addressed her public spat with judge Jason Gardiner, who made several comments about her weight, and admitted she had been left “embarrassed” by the situation.

She told how she "regrets" the harsh exchange of words but felt like she had to "stand her ground against body shaming".

Collins’ partner Evers recently revealed how she attempted to quit the show four times during her six-week stint on the show, admitting he had to convince her to stay.
