Jameis Winston creates unfathomable 30-TD, 30-interception season

A year after Patrick Mahomes delivered a 5,000-passing yard, 50 TD season, Tampa Bay Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston finished with a statistical improbability.

In the Bucs’ 28-22 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Winston went over the 5,000-yard mark by throwing for 201 yards. He also threw a pair of interceptions, putting him at 30 picks for the season. That goes with the 33 TD passes he threw to his own team.

By going 30-30 Winston creates club no one quite wants to be in as a quarterback. He finished with 5.109 yards passing. He threw for multiple interceptions in 10 games and multiple TDs in 10 games, too.

Bruce Arians has a complex choice on his hands and mind going forward about whether he can trust the Bucs’ offense to a quarterback as erratic as Winston.
