July 06--Clippers' reserve guard Jamal Crawford has long been considered one of the nicest guys in the league, always thanking reporters for their time after interviews and once even pulling over his car as he was exiting Staples Center to take photos with fans.
His generosity of spirit extends to his teammates as well.
After free agent center DeAndre Jordan decided Friday to leave the Clippers for the Dallas Mavericks, Crawford was the only Clipper who took to Twitter to express support for his former teammate.
Tweeted Crawford: "Had to be a tough decision, but proud of my lil bro @deandrejordan6.. Always love!! #friendsafterbasketball"
Crawford, who often hosts question-and-answer sessions on Twitter, also addressed the issue another time when a fan asked him if he was upset that Jordan went to Dallas.
Responded Crawford: "not at all, happy for him personally."
Jordan led the NBA in rebounding (15 per game) and field-goal percentage (71%) last season, and also averaged 11.5 points, the most in his career.
The 26-year-old center helped the Clippers get one win away from advancing to the Western Conference finals for the first time in their 45-year existence.
Jordan, who had spent his entire seven-season NBA career with the Clippers, agreed to sign with the Mavericks for four years and $80 million, with an opportunity to opt out after the third year.
