Jamal Agnew thanks the Lions for his time in Detroit

The Detroit Lions are saying goodbye to return man and offensive weapon Jamal Agnew. The one-time All-Pro is taking his talents to Jacksonville as a free agent. And Agnew is showing his gratitude to the team that took a chance on him as an unheralded cornerback in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft.

Agnew agreed to terms with the Jaguars on Monday very early in the NFL’s legal tampering period of free agency. The Jaguars will pay Agnew up to $21 million over three years, per reports.

Agnew thanked the Lions organization for the chance to prove he belonged in the NFL. He noted that “Detroit will always be home to me.”

Agnew was always one of the classiest, most approachable players during his four seasons in Detroit. Good game, bad game, it didn’t matter; Agnew was always willing to talk and give an honest assessment of his own performance and the team.
