Jamal Adams believes Rob Gronkowski will come back from retirement

There has been speculation that Rob Gronkowski will return to the NFL after announcing his retirement, and safety Jamal Adams from the New York Jets is another supporter of this idea.

Adams has been in the league for two years and has went head-to-head with Gronkowski in four matchups. He was asked on Thursday night if he was glad that Gronkowski is no longer in the league.

“He’ll be back,” Adams said. “He’ll be back. He’s not fooling me.”

This is a difficult task for any defender, but Adams seems to enjoy the competition — and wouldn’t want it any other way.

“I was sad,” Adams said. “I was upset because going against him is what I look forward to. I like going against the best, and obviously, he was the best. I hope he comes back. I know he will. I don’t believe it yet.”

Jets head coach Adam Gase doesn’t believe that Gronkowski is done either — so it looks like they will continue to game plan for him, even if he isn’t with the team.
