Jamaica Street attack: police release CCTV images of man after woman assaulted in city centre

Police have released CCTV images of a man after a woman was assaulted on Jamaica Street in the city centre.

Glasgow police say the incident took place at a bus stop outside Curry's PC World on the night of Sunday March 8.

The force have issued a description of the man and appealed to the public to come forward with any information.

A statement released by the Greater Glasgow Police Division this afternoon read: "Police in Glasgow are releasing images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries in relation to an incident which occurred around 8.55 pm on Sunday, 8 March, 2020 at a bus stop outside PC Word/Curry’s in Jamaica Street. During this incident a woman was assaulted.

"The man in the images is described as a white male with dark receding hair, aged between late 40s and early 50s, wearing a black jacket with a grey jumper or t-shirt underneath, blue jeans with fading at the front and dark shoes.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Constable Dean Courtney at Glasgow City Centre Police Office via 101 quoting incident number 3527 of 8 March 2020. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
