Jalen Rose: ’99 percent’ Kawhi Leonard signing with Raptors

For the last few days, the one common theme about Kawhi Leonard’s free agency is that nobody really knows anything about what he is doing. But in the same morning that Leonard is reportedly back in Toronto, one of the strongest voices about Leonard ever since he was in San Antonio is making a definitive statement.

ESPN’s Jalen Rose, who was the first in the national media to suggest that Kawhi Leonard would never play for the San Antonio Spurs back in 2018, said on Wednesday’s Get Up that Leonard is 99% likely to stay with the Raptors on a two-year deal.

Via USA TODAY’s Dan Wolken

“What I’m 99% hearing is that Kawhi Leonard will be returning to Toronto and signing a 2-year contract, just completed his 8th season, that will put him at 10 years and put him in position to get largest maximum deal for a player of his tenure.”

While Rose ranks more as an ESPN personality than he does as a reporter, he often does have inside information on the association before anyone else in the national media. Take it with a grain of salt, but a decision from Leonard may indeed be coming soon.
