Jalen Ramsey says he’s excited to see where Nick Foles can take the Jags

We’re coming up on the one-year anniversary of Jalen Ramsey’s infamous quarterback rundown with GQ Magazine, which set the internet ablaze last summer. However, an offseason later it appears the young cornerback is maturing before our eyes and it showed in the most recent episode of the “Adam Schefter Podcast” when Schefty asked Ramsey to re-live last seasons interview and discuss the quarterbacks he’ll be facing in 2019.

Instead of roasting almost everyone as he did in 2018, Ramsey simply replied by saying the Jags will play against some good signal-callers, but added that he was the most excited to see his own quarterback, Nick Foles, in action.

“Probably the quarterback I’m most excited about is Nick Foles. [I] don’t have to play against him, of course. He’s my teammate, a great teammate and the few interactions we’ve had have been great. [He’s a] great man, great player as well and he has nothing to prove to anybody because he’s a Super Bowl champion and a Super Bowl MVP, so I hope he comes out here and plays free and knows he has the support of everybody.”

As Schefter put it afterward, that’s maturity folks.

Ramsey’s answer also could be a direct reflection of the team’s maturity, too, as the group instantly showed they didn’t know how to handle being the NFL’s next big thing last summer between their fights on the field, disputes with the media and other ensuing incidents. Hopefully, it will trickle into the regular season and aid the team to a much better start in 2019 as they will look to return to the postseason under the leadership of Ramsey and Foles.
