Jalen Ramsey, Matt Gay selected to Pro Bowl alongside Aaron Donald and Cooper Kupp

The NFL announced earlier this week that Cooper Kupp and Aaron Donald were among the first five players selected to the 2022 Pro Bowl. It’s Kupp’s first selection and Donald’s eighth, once again representing the Rams in the league’s all-star game.

On Wednesday night, the rest of the rosters were revealed and two more Rams players were selected. Jalen Ramsey predictably voted into the Pro Bowl at cornerback, earning his third consecutive Pro Bowl selection with the Rams and his fifth overall as a pro. He’s been the best corner in the league once again, picking off three passes and recording eight tackles for a loss.

Matt Gay was also recognized for his near-perfect season, being selected to his first career Pro Bowl. He’s made 28 of 29 field goal attempts, leading the league with 96.6% accuracy. Gay has also converted 40 of his 41 PATs.

Notably, Matthew Stafford and Andrew Whitworth were not selected to the Pro Bowl despite both players having outstanding seasons with the Rams. Stafford leads the league with a touchdown rate of 7.0%, and is also averaging an NFL-best 7.57 net yards per attempt. He’s thrown 35 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions, good for a passer rating of 108.2.

Whitworth has been one of the best tackles in football, allowing only 12 total pressures and four sacks all season.

The Pro Bowl will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday, Feb. 6, one week before Super Bowl LVI takes place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
