Jalen Ramsey discusses his nagging back injury which held him out vs. Broncos

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey will miss his second consecutive game Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, which means second-year player Tre Herndon will start in his third game of the season. As he’s done since the season started, Ramsey took to the “17 Weeks Podcast” to update the fans on his current situation and went into details about the back injury that held him out for his first-ever inactive regular season game.

Due to his trade request being on the table, many have been skeptical towards Ramsey’s days of not practicing as he began having issues on Monday and reported to the team doctor with flu-like symptoms. After the team’s day off on Tuesday, he was placed on the injury report with a back injury on Wednesday. Later that evening, Doug Marrone released a statement saying Ramsey had been excused from practice for the birth of his second daughter and he missed Thursday and Friday as a result. He rejoined the team on Saturday, but didn’t play against the Denver Broncos after testing his back out in the pregame process.

If Ramsey is trying to find a way out of Jacksonville, it appears Jags owner Shad Khan has no plans to let that happen. This week he told the Associated Press that he’s sensitive to the needs of individuals who are apart of the organization, but felt it was in the team’s best interest to keep him instead of trading him. There are a lot of national pundits who agree with his decision because ultimately Ramsey is the Jags’ best player, and organizations don’t get better by letting their stars go.
