Jalen Hurts says he’s not above ‘competition’ when asked about not being named starting QB

Jalen Hurts has been enthralled in a quarterback controversy ever since stepping foot on Alabama’s campus six years ago, so he’s no stranger to open competitions or the politics that come with such scenarios.

As the Eagles talk about competition at every position and flirt with adding a big-name quarterback, Jalen Hurts has gone about the business of getting better every day.

While attending Philadelphia’s second phase of OTAs, Hurts met with the media and had a unique response when asked about not being named the Eagles’ official starting quarterback.

Always looking to stay away from the “rat poison” or the rumor mill, Hurts prefers to take a business-like approach to everything quarterback-related.

“Rent’s due every day.”

Hurts referred back to Nick Saban’s approach when describing how he chooses to handle all the talk about the Eagles being unsure.
