Jalen Hudson addresses comparison to one of Thunder’s better defenders

Like other players coming out of college, Jalen Hudson is trying to prove his worth to NBA franchises. The former Florida Gator has a bit to prove after his field goal percentage dropped 10 percent and three-point percentage 12.4 percent from his junior to senior season. If he’s selected, Hudson will likely go in the second round, so he probably isn’t on Oklahoma City’s radar since the Thunder don’t have a second-round pick in this year’s draft.

In spite of his offensive numbers being down in his final college campaign, Hudson has managed to draw comparisons to one of the Thunder’s top defenders: Andre Roberson.

While at a workout for the Orlando Magic, Hudson was asked about the comparison by Rookie Wire‘s Cody Taylor:

I really take pride in defense. [I’m just] trying to lock down whoever. I never have heard of that comparison [to Andre Roberson] before but obviously, he is a great defender and I’ll definitely take it. But like I said, I’m just trying to show teams that I can do a whole bunch of everything and I’m very versatile. If they want me to be a defensive player I can do that, if they want me to hit shots, if they want me to come off the bench and provide energy. I feel I can do a little bit of everything. So, just trying to show teams I can do everything, but defense is definitely something that is important to me.
