Japan Airlines (JAL) began offering online field trips Sunday.

Around 140,000 people every year go on field trips to the JAL warehouse at Haneda Airport in Tokyo's Ota Ward, but the coronavirus pandemic forced JAL to close its warehouse to the public in March.

In an online presentation broadcast live from the warehouse, company employees provided their explanations of the new A350 passenger plane, which the company began using last year. The broadcast also gave viewers a mechanic's-eye view of the airplane's giant tires and offered answers to questions from children, such as, "How long does an airplane last?"

A 40-year-old man who joined the online field trip from his home in Yokohama said, "It's hard to take children on field trips when they're small, but because this was online, the whole family could enjoy it."
