Jakobi Meyers gushes about the impact of Julian Edelman’s work ethic

Julian Edelman may have retired from the New England Patriots in April, but he will still have a lasting impact in the organization. One player who he influenced in particular was wide receiver Jakobi Meyers,

Meyers was a big part of the Patriots passing game in 2021, catching 59 passes for 729 yards. Without Edelman, he will be one of the main receivers challenged with the task of stepping up to fill the void left by Edelman’s departure.

Tuesday, Meyers spoke to the media about the lessons that Edelman taught him and what he learned from the veteran wide receiver.

?You could watch Jules and he could never say a word but you will learn a books worth of information,” Meyers told reporters Tuesday during OTAs media availability, via The Boston Globe. “So, having him around, it definitely helped my game tremendously and I?m just excited that I had the opportunity to be with him in the locker room these two years.?

With the Patriots retooling on both sides of the football, Meyers will look to continue to progress on a unit that will have solid depth in 2021.
