Jakeem Grant turns on the speed to score Bears’ first TD vs. Packers

The Chicago Bears achieved the unexpected and contained the Green Bay Packers for most of the first half. But if they hope to pull off the ultimate upset, they’re going to need their offense to step up.

After Chicago’s defense forced another Green Bay punt on their second series, the Bears offense responded with a 6-play, 89-yard touchdown drive to put them up two possessions against the Packers for the first time since 2018.

And it was their speedy returner and receiver Jakeem Grant who got them there.

On second-and-4 from the Green Bay 46-yard line, quarterback Justin Fields threw a short pass to Grant, who took it 46 yards to the end zone for a touchdown.

According to Next Gen Stats, Grant reached a top speed of 20.86 MPH on his catch-and-run touchdown, which is the fastest speed by a Bears ball carrier on a play from scrimmage this season.

The Bears trail the Packers 14-10 in the second quarter.
