Reality TV star Jake Quickenden has laid bare the 'dark side of social media' after his newborn son was targetted by vile trolls.
Dancing On Ice 2018 winner Jake, 32, has been shocked by the cruel messages posted about his baby online.
He says in the past week four-week-old Leo has been told he 'needs botox' and is 'ugly as f***' and 'weird looking.'
Jake, 32, who shot to fame on the X Factor and was a finalist on I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!, welcomed Leo last month with his girlfriend Sophie Church, 28.
He is now calling for something to be done after being told that he's the one who needs to stay off social media.
Speaking out on his Instagram he wrote: "REAL POST... So in the past week this little man has been told he needs Botox, that he’s ugly as f*** and that he’s weird looking, me myself have also been told stay off social media if you don’t want to be trolled, it’s so baffling to me that I should have to stay off social media if I don’t want my four week old trolled."
He continued: "I don’t mind people giving me s***, as sad as it is I’ve had to get used to being called 'irrelevant', 'ugly', 'attention seeking' and the list goes on but to troll a innocent child is so wrong and the people doing it seriously need to seek help.
"Also why should I stay off social media if I don’t want him trolled the thought process of some people is shocking, maybe people just shouldn’t troll.
"I enjoy social media it’s full of lovely people who are supportive and I like sharing my ups and downs.
"I try and be real as possible, but unfortunately there is a dark side of social media and something needs doing about it."
The doting dad added about his boy: "Anyway rant over!! The lion is four weeks today! Cute af.
"Love you son @leooliverq."
Speaking with the MailOnline last week Jake said he has 'questioned humanity' over the trolling of his son.
Jake was accused of attention seeking after naming his son Leo Oliver after his late brother Oliver who died of bone cancer at the age of 19 in 2002.
Four years earlier Jake's dad Paul died also after battling cancer.
Jake was also trolled after he shared a topless snap on Instagram of himself cradling his baby boy while having precious skin to skin contact in hospital.
One tweeted: "Why are you topless?? Planning on breastfeeding?? Congrats on the baby."
Jake has been flooded with messages of support over the hurtful messages.
One follower said: "What the hell is wrong with people? Keep doing you! Leo is cute af."
Former Strictly Come Dancing pro James Jordan said: "WORDS ACTUALLY FAIL ME."
The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Seema Malhotra wrote: "He is perfect."
And This Morning' s doctor Zoe Williams told him: "Leo is a gorgeous little lion cub. Always bear in mind that people like that, whilst you’ve had to endure their awful comments - they have to be themselves 24/7. Sending masses of love."
