Jake Paul told 2018 Love Island star could replace Tommy Fury instead of Tyron Woodley

Another former Love Island contestant has thrown his boxing gloves into the ring and offered to replace Tommy Fury to fight Jake Paul on December 18.

Season four's Idris Virgo has laid down the gauntlet to social media sensation Paul after Fury pulled out due to medical reasons with just 12 days to go until the eagerly anticipated showdown.

Tyron Woodley will instead take on Paul as the last-minute replacement in what will be a rematch of their August 2021 bout which Paul won.

However, prior to the official confirmation, Virgo boldly entered the fray and asked Paul if he was 'ready to face the best in the UK."

"Tommy 'Fimbles' Fury has pulled out from the fight with Jake Paul, oh my days," Virgo told Hennessy Sports.

"Now as a fighting man I would be willing to step in at short notice and fight Jake Paul, what are you saying Jake Paul?

"Are you ready to face the best in the UK, the one and only body breaker. Jake Paul vs Idris Virgo on December 18, let's get it on."

Virgo has an undefeated record as a professional in his 12 fights so far.

He lasted four days on reality TV show Love Island before leaving the villa in 2018.
