Jake Paul sends offer to fight Tommy Fury in February as undercard takes shape

After their heated exchange in Dubai on Saturday night, Jake Paul and Tommy Fury are said to have agreed to fight each other after John Fury made a 'verbal agreement' with member's of Paul's team.

This verbal agreement has now been backed up by a tweet sent by Paul, offering Frank Warren the chance to arrange a fight between the pair in the next seven days. The 25-year-old American social media personality has also offered to fight in either Manchester or London following issues arranging a fight between the pair in the past

Paul tweeted in response to a video where John Fury confirms that a verbal agreement had been made, he wrote: "Dear @FrankWarren, I agree to fight Tommy in Manchester or London in Feb. I’ll come to his country, no more running. His baby is due then & you’ve said it’s no issue. Since John is adamant we’ve agreed, I am giving u 7 days to present a signed contract by Tommy or I’m moving on.

Fury withdrew for the second time from a fight against Paul back in August following Visa issues and Paul's camp will be hoping that their ultimatum does not backfire in the same way Tommy's older brother Tyson's did when he was arranging to fight Anthony Joshua in September.

After the event in Dubai on Saturday, John Fury explained to reporters that he had agreed for a fight to take place in principle between his son Tommy and Paul, explaining: "Can I say one thing here though. I have looked him down, backed him up into a corner, and check-mated him. He has agreed to a February bout.

"He shook me hand and he gave me his word of honour, his manager. It's happening in February. I said 'listen if you back out you'll never live it down in your life'. You can't break a man's handshake.

"Contracts mean nothing to me, but a handshake means my word. He's given me his word, his manager, we fight in February."

This does not guarantee that a fight will happen, but a February date has been mentioned with both men having recently fought. Despite there only being a verbal agreement so far, it looks as though fighters are vying to appear on the undercard, with Roman Fury and Anthony Taylor said to have verbally agreed to appear on the card as reported by IFL TV.

Roman is the brother of both Tyson and Tommy and the 26-year-old only recently made his professional fighting debut, beating Ryan Hibbert on points in Doncaster. Taylor, meanwhile, is a former opponent of Roman's brother Tommy, having lost to the former Love Island star back in 2021.

Taylor has also sparred with Jake Paul and it would be a fight which would further cement the rivalry between the Fury family and those associated with Jake Paul. Taylor fought on the undercard of Floyd Mayeather Jr vs Deji in Dubai in an exhibition against Jack Fincham and Fury would be a step up in quality for the 33-year-old known as 'Pretty Boy'.
