Jake Paul's Tommy Fury demand set to end in failure - at least for now

Jake Paul's demand that Tyson Fury is part of any fight with his brother Tommy will be rejected - but perhaps not forever.

The YouTube star won his third professional boxing fight on Saturday night when he stopped Ben Askren in the first round.

He was immediately called out by Tommy who has long clamoured for a fight with the 24-year-old.

Paul said he was happy to oblige, but wants Tyson to take on fellow heavyweight Michael Hunter on the same card.

Tyson, however, is contracted to fight Anthony Joshua twice this year with an announcement due shortly on their first meeting in Saudi Arabia this summer.

That would rule out a clash with Hunter until at least 2022.

But with Hunter currently negotiating a final eliminator with Filip Hrgovic, he could be in a position to challenge Tyson should he beat Joshua.

That would rely on Tyson retaining the IBF belt after his first fight with Joshua - and the sanctioning body allowing him to delay a clash with Hunter or Hrgovic.

Paul raised the possibility of fighting Tommy when he said: "I'm going to plant the seed now. Tommy Fury vs me and Michael Hunter against Tyson Fury on the same night.

"Tommy is weak... and Tommy's girlfriend [Molly-Mae Hague] DM'd me before they went on that reality show [ Love Island ]."

Tommy has fought five times as a professional but his opponents records have raised eyebrows.

They had been beaten a combined 174 times before they entered the ring against Tommy who resumed his career after finishing second on Love Island.

And last month he told Sky Sports: "He's a YouTuber who has done very well for himself but he's trying to gimmick the boxing. That's what I see from my end.

"I don't see him as a real, legitimate boxer. I don't see him as anything.

"If Tyson hadn't have brought it up, I would never have spouted his name.
