Jake Paul has mocked Hasim Rahman Jr for failing to make the 205lb weight limit during an unofficial weigh-in for their cancelled fight.
Rahman Jr was attempting to prove a point when he stepped on the scale at Gleason's Gym in New York on Friday afternoon. But the son of a legend scaled 206.6lb, almost two pounds over the revised limit for his fight with Paul.
Paul responded by tweeting: "HAHAHHAHAHAHA KARMAS A B****". The fight had initially been agreed at the cruiserweight limit of 200lb before Rahman Jr informed his rival's team that he could not boil down that far. The new limit was then agreed before Paul alleged that Rahman had informed him he would not weigh less than 215lb.
Rahman Jr hotly disputed Paul's version of events but was powerless to prevent the fight being cancelled. It would have represented the YouTuber's first bout against a boxer with a record following wins over a social media star, a retired basketball star and two former UFC standouts.
Both men accused the other of running scared, with Rahman saying: "Jake and his ‘team’ cancelled this fight, not me! The fight isn’t happening on their accord not MINE! I'm a bridgerweight, otherwise known as heavyweight outside the WBC, I signed the contract to make 200 lbs in the three weeks, but my body wouldn't let me do it.

"Where in boxing do you see them cancel fights a week in advance? There are penalties involved, I'll fight you for the $5,000 minimum. I'd beat this man with one hand, just like I did in the gym. He said he beat my arse at 230, so what's the problem fighting me at 215 or 210, it's clearly them not wanting to fight, it's them not wanting the fight."
Paul and his promotional company released a lengthy statement when cancelling the fight, adding: "MVP and Jake Paul will not reward someone that has conducted themselves in such a deceiving and calculated manner. Therefore, MVP is left with no choice but to cancel the August 6 event."
