Jake Paul responds to Daniel Cormier's threat to "torture" him after bust-up

Jake Paul has no intention of fighting Daniel Cormier in the cage - but is willing to take on the former UFC champion in the ring.

Cormier called out YouTube star Paul following his win over Ben Askren earlier this month and claimed he would "kill" him in a fight.

He then confronted Paul at UFC 261 last weekend before saying he was willing to fight the 24-year-old in mixed martial arts.

But Paul dismissed the idea of switching codes, telling ESPN: "Of course he's going to challenge me to an MMA fight, but I find it funny because he's challenging me to something I've ever trained in.

"He's trained boxing and stand-up and has been in there with Stipe [Miocic] and Jon Jones. He lost those fights but he's been in there with the best of the best in striking.

"Of course he's going to duck the boxing. We would make more money in a boxing match and I'm a boxer.

"I never said I would beat Daniel Cormier in an MMA fight but if he comes to box me then I will beat him."

Cormier left his commentary booth at UFC 261 to speak to Paul who was cageside to see Kamaru Usman KO Jorge Masvidal.

"I was sitting directly behind the commentator's booth, the crowd sees me and starts chanting," Paul explained.

"DC turns around and sees me, he's staring right at me, looking like he's p* off. He mouths something at me and then there's a break and I see him charging at me.

"Before he gets face-to-face with me he's saying, 'This is not a game, you better not disrespect me or I'll punk you. Keep my name out of your mouth'.

"I think his game was to scare, he came up fast and macho and put his finger in my face. My immediate response was, 'You put my name into your mouth first'.

"He had his chance [to hit me] and he b****ed out and it's embarrassing; he's not a man of his word."
